Design Background
In COVID-19 pandemic, to prevent any potential spread of disease, it’s common in China to measure and record people’s body temperatures before getting into communities, schools, workplaces and public transportation. But it’s inefficient to do so manually with only pen and paper, especially when people are queuing up in morning peak (unfortunately this is most of the cases). Moreover, the paper records are hard to search, retrieve and share, not to mention the possibility of being tampered with.
Leading by Deputy Dean Xu Zhao in School of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, this PRP project was initiated with students having engineering, marketing and entrepreneurial background. Luckily, this project was awarded excellent project (3/26) in 2021 under Antai College of Economics & Management.
As the team leader, I developed a WeChat application from UX/UI design to function implementations. I also lead the team to design and produce the circuit and PCB of infrared thermometer, which can connect to mobiles with Bluetooth, and finally 3-D printed the shell to protect the PCB as the prototype. In addition, we went to hospitals, univerisities and communities to perform field survey including interviewing doctors, nurses, community workers and government officials.
